If I got an Integra RS or GSR and had 5000 to spend on it what should I get
First of all what what would you get a GSR in worser condition, older, more miles, and worse paint or a newer, cleaner, less milaged, nice paint Integra RS. I don't actually care much about VTEC though it does supply a lot of power to these B engines. If I got an RS could I do a smog legal LS block or would it need to be under the table legal??.. How ever when I started to search for cars I found a few RS's with the B18C3 block(GSR?) or should I steer away from a car that's a undergoing project or a finished project which I know will save me $$$....
If I got an Integra RS what should I do for it with $5000ish, after the alarm
If I got an Integra GSR what should I do with the $5000 for it after shaving off the DOHC vtec emblem, switching Valve covers to the B18C1 one, and a really good alarm (Clifford or a Viper pager alarm) ?
Thanks

By the way does OBDI or OBDII matter I remember when I worked with lexus SC's the OBDII didn't respond well to modifications like the intake, ignition, and ECU threw codes out.... By the way years are 94-01 and if it comes to a certain block of years it'd need to be 94-95 or 98-01
Also the GSR would take a bigger hit on my wallet with gas then again the integra isn't a gas guzzler
(premium on GSR?)

obd1 would be the choice if one was to do major internal mods. ie cams/pistons etc.
94-95 obd1/96-99obd2a/00-01obd2b
well if you are buying an older gsr model or any used car you should do a compression check to see if the motor is healthy. Look around for wears..ie engine bay/axels/fluids leaking etc...what you normaly do when buying a used car.
btw it it were buying a car, i would pick one with vtec. It's a good base to start working with.

Not a bad idea but when it comes to forged internals all I'd do without going total over board would be new Valves, cams, cam gears, and springs
.. The RS has no power door locks?? That's all I really want when it comes to power or assisted crap in the car....

That's just to name a few and would no doubt lay down a good 200+ whp and is well under 5K dollars.
This is pretty much the setup I'm going to run this winter.

I'm stumped...have you ever worked with Hondas/Acuras before? Nearly everything you want to know about an LS motor vs. a GSR motor can be found if you search. Not trying to flame here, but this looks like a worthless post...?
