brakes=rpms jumping
Last night i was pumping my brakes at idle. I noticed it was reving my car when i was pumping the brakes. It was going from 700 to about 1500 when i was doing this. I have abs brakes if that matters. Please help.
If the booster is leaking, you'll need to replace the booster with a new or used one (should be able to find a good one at the junkyard if you're short on $$). You can check to see if the booster is indeed leaking by unplugging the large vacuum hose from the booster, and hook up a vacuum pump with a gauge (hand pump works fine), pull a small vacuum and see if it holds or not. It shoudn't leak AT ALL. If it goes down any, even after letting it sit for awile, it is leaking and will need to be replaced. If it stays at the exact amount of vacuum for a long time then the booster is fine, but it sounds like a booster issue from what you describe.
btw.... where in S. FL are you at?
