since the tranny is heavy as hell i would recommend one person under the car and two people on top (just to make things easier). As i recall the tranny wont go straight up. I think it needs to be turned like half way. then go straight up and turn it back. Wiggle that bitch on thurrr. If you tried this already and still cant then maybe you didnt align the clutch right.

I just got done putting my transmission back in, and all I did was rest it on a car jack (it balanced just fine) and jacked into the engine compartment as high as it needed to go, then picked it up from above and slid it into place, then raised the jack a little to support is while I bolted it back on so it wouldnt rest on the input shaft. It only took like 20 minutes, but it was one heavy ************

So, how's that new steel plated ribcage working out for you now?
It took my brother and myself to hold that tranny up til my friend could get a few of the tranny bolts to catch. Those were some of the worst, most strenuous 15 minutes of my life! (I bench well over 250.) Try to imagine holding 200lbs, for HALF a rep for 15 minutes!
The best thing to do is remove EVERYTHING in your way. Especially that front crossmember.

I would have dropped the entire engine because it is only a little harder to put the WHOLE long-block in and it is worlds easier to put the tranny on. Sorry that I am no help, but at least you get a bump out of it.

Not bad. One of my co-workers hurt her fingered when she was trying to poke my abs. I ******* love weight lifting.

if you remove the front crossmember, it will make it so much easier, especiall if you do not have an engine lift... we had a tougher time removing the tranny than dropping it back in...
