cuttin out guts of dual stage intake manfiold
My question is would i gain hp my removing the center plate on the dual stage intake manifold and then cutting out the guts. This would give me a verry large plenum and decent leingth runners. the motor is basically stock stock cams and internals. here is what i wopuld cut out
if your mods and motor is basically stock do not bother
you will lose alot of midrange and response to gain minimal upper rpm power
i cant see your picx
but what i did on my h23 manifold was gutted the runner dividers between in each port on the lower plenum, but kept the dividers between the seperate runners for each cylinder
i wouldnt worry about doing this until your mods demand more plenum volume

so i should just pot it back togeather stock. would removing the center plate and not cutting at all still give more losses at lower rpn that what i would gain up high?
I say give it a shot and see how it works if you have the time, a gsr intake manifold is not hard to find also not that expensive.
dont do it you will lose tons of power i tried this before on my gsr almost stock. i lost 6-8lbs of torque thoughout the entire rpm and dint gain any additional hp out of it. driving it around the city felt like a single cam. now if you have a fully built motor with some skunk2 or jun 3 cams big tb big 2.5 colletor header then i think a lot of gains will be seen past 7rpm. but for now dont do it.
