Default Sway Bar and Strut Bar on 01 GSR Suspension stuff

I was wonderin would an aftermarket lower sway bar better than the itr 22mm??? How about strut bar? Or tie bar?? whats the difference between the strut bar and tie bar??? They all upper bars right? sway bar are for lower right??? Which brand to go with the front upper and rear? I have Skunk2 Coilover and haven't gotten my shocks yet. Would a Tokico Illuminas do the job paired with whatever sway bar strut bar tie bar you guyz mention?? Or I should save up for the Koni Yellow?? Any suggestion? Can I see pix of how the tie bar sway bar and strut bar bolted???? Well i know how a strut bar is bolted but how about the tie bar?? Sway bar hooks on the LCA right?? Would prefer feedback on what brand is good and how it handles thanks. This is all daily driving.

all of the bars you mentioned above add into stiffening up the chassis. Gives you more strength in cornering. the Tokico's should be fine as well as the Koni Yellows. Im pretty sure you know where the strut bars go. If not, the Upper Strut tower bar goes in the engine bay where you see the suspension mounts, the rear in the hatch area where the wheel well is. I believe the Lower Tie bar is connected to the LCA's. the Sway bars go under the chassis. Sorry i dont have any pics i can use.

all of the bars you mentioned above add into stiffening up the chassis.
he also mentioned the sway bar which is not a chassis stiffening device-- it is a device to eliminate body roll and bias a little bit of understeer or oversteer (depending on whether it is the front or rear sway bar)..

I don't know about the Tok's as I'm not familiar with the Skunk spring rates. It ought to be alright for the street, though. Of the bars mentioned, the rear sway bar will have the most "bang for the buck". For street driving, the rest of them are really.. umm.. somewhat superfluous.. at least their effects would be difficult to detect other than by the placebo effect. Depending on your spring rates, you might benefit some from a rear strut tower bar.

others may have different experiences and viewpoints.

yeah thanks guyz but what about an aftermarket sway bar vs the itr 22mm sway bar? Which would perform better reducing more of body roll? Any recommended brands and where i can get it for a good price? I would really like pix of these bars located at if you or anyone have it on their rides please post up thanks.

Well, the ITR bar is one of the best, but it's not a simple "bolt on" proposition to install it; you need to reinforce your subframe.

Neuspeed makes a bolt on rear sway bar, but its 19mm. Any sway bar that is 22mm and just bolts on is asking for a tearout if you ask me. I'm happy with my Comptech bar, although its a little pricey for what it is. The new Comptech sway tie combo looks promising. That IS a bolt on...it has the reinforcement built into the tie bar.

I had the Eibach front and rear sways, spoon front and rear stut tower braces, koni yellows, and gc`s..car handled awesome! I was very impressed w/ the eibach sways. the rear is not 22mm but it got the job done and installed nicely.
