Does anybody here know if a 98itr power steering pump will fit the 98gsr? I know that the 94-97 pumps don't fit 98-01 but I don't know if there is any difference between the itr and gsr pumps. thanks.

 

The manual doesn't specify a difference, as long as they're the same generation of pump. '94-'97 and '98-'01. Altho, I'm not sure about the '97 ITR's and which generation of pump they use.

I just wnet throught the whole PS ordel and am still looking for some parts (IN VTEC was very helpful and generous! thanks!!) anyway, i checked the part numbers for you and a 98 gsr pump is the same as a 98 R pump, you should be fine. As IN VTEC said, the only time to worry is if your pump and line years don't match...94-97 pump must be used with 94-97 line, 98-up pump must use 98-up lines. I think, only the top feed line is the one to worry about since they have a different fitting for the years. hope that helps.

OK thanks alot. I have had a leaking ps pump for about 3 months and it is getting everything dirty. I tried the loop thing but I like power steering alot better, especially in the city.
