Default Qestion on the new SI

I Know as much as things change in time I might as well get use to the new K series stuff sticking around for a while. I really like the look of the new SI, espescially when it's been fixed up like body kit (with taste) 17" whls. & so forth. Has anyone found the K series to be harder to work on or modify in different ways? Just curious. I hated the car when I first saw it stock but liked the interior. Then I got bit by a couple of SI's in a magazine that Mugen had modified in & out. I started saying hhmmmm, maybe.... Then I went to the NOPI show in Atl. in 2002. A young military guy & his wife drove up in a real European Civic Type R & was trying to sell it! I wanted one bad then! What do you guys think about the aftermarket & how slow it seems to be in getting the parts out there? I wonder how long it's going to be before there is a good bit of stuff on the market to make people leave the B series for the K?

I think there are plenty aftermarket parts avaible for ep3. Thats probably one of the reason why i traded in my 02 ex for 03 si. and I love it. Interior , exterior is great. Turbo is quite expensive compare to other older gen civics though. Good autox car. Potential engine. Nice daily car for me. Drop has to be one of the first few mods though. Stock height on si is awfully high..

Everything that is being released for the new Si is going to be expensive initially. Remember that the B-Series has been around for a while and is very common now, which is why prices are much lower. Just wait until more companies develop products for us K-Series owners. We will see some crazy power being made

The K series motor has a ton of potential. Maybe Jack (B18CXr) would like to comment more on this as he's worked with them extensively.

As for the handling aspect of the car, it can be made to handle well, but unfortunately that comes with a price--you need to spend some $$ to get a good suspension setup for the car. It's not as simple as just buying ground controls/konis like it was with the old cars. You really need agood full-bodied coilover (as it stands now) to make the car handle well. I've talked about this in other thrrads on this forum before.

There are, much more than a year ago. No choice but to move onto the K, B series will run out in the next decade (or atleast that's what I am hearing).

Yeah, I too learned this about the K series set up, suspension wise. I have a RSX-S and I thought by putting just a sleave coilover I would be set.. I was wrong. After blowing my shocks, I went with the Tein Flex. Very nice ride, and handling is awsome.

Hey Todd, are you currently runing the Flex on your EP3? Also did you ever solve the problem of bump steer?
