muffler to loud...
i just put on a muffler and it sounds nice and all. is there any way i can quiet down the sound that comes into the car from the outside. it resonates inside the cabin. i like how it sounds from the outside...but to loud on the inside. i got some dynamat. what part of the back do i have to pad up to quiet the sound that enters the car. the spare tire well? the trunk? where?
Everywhere, pretty much. I'd suggest getting ahold of some IceGuard, just about as effective as dynamat, MUCH cheaper. It's used in roofing, bug the local roofers for some scraps.
Or just wrap the Iceguard around the exhaust pipe. You also might look into extending the exhaust to come out from under the car instead of ending underneath it.
get a resonator if you don't have one...that's what I did with mine and it quiet'd it down a bit inside nad still sounds great on the outside.
I actually got a Blue Streak High Flow resonator...

Get an exhaust that comes with a silencer like the Tanebe Racing Medallion. That way you can have it quiet whenever you want and let it rip when you want to race.
