Is anyone here using REV (Racing Engine Valves) Valvetrain???

I am building an LS/VTEC with either TODA SPEC A's or 2001 ITR Camshafts in my B16A2 head, and I'm not sure if the Valvetrain they offer is any good.

Comes with:

16 SS Valves
16 SS DUAL Valvesprings
16 Titanium Retainers

All shipped to my door for only $661.53

I'd like some feedback on this Brand of Valvetrain, and some other suggestions as well.

 

Rev Makes very nice valvetrain parts.
They have set many NHRA records,
Kenny Tran / Team Mopar etc.....

 

Does anyone know REV's max duration lift???

TODA Spec Camshafts recquire at least 12mm of duration at 290.

 

Port flow retaners will do fin 14Left

 

I hear the REV is good stuff...shud be fine with either of those cams...

just an fyi so people know why im gona say what im gona say.
I had a bad experience with rev, and their true colors came out in my opinion. I was lied to and had a bad customer service experience with many people at rev

that being said, i think there are many other better companies out there, that are PROVEN performers that will out flow the rev valves, the retainers are of MUCH higher quality, and springs are designed properly vs being way too stiff or too much open spring pressure.

i know some people have had good luck with rev. more power to them. im glad they are happy with their stuff.

they flow very very good, and have been proven in alot of apps as being very good.
i think brad (max_cfm) and dave (head)

manley valves are also really good. you can get retainers/springs from rocket or dwn-shift who is a sponsor of h-t

hell, Head sells all three valves. ask him which ones he likes best. and a head porter will know an infinite amount more about valve tech, spring tech, and retainer/keeper tech then i will prolly know for a long long time.

dont let someone tell you to buy a product just cause they have a good price or some other lame excuse.

not all valves are created equal.

when in doubt ask the guy who is porting your head or installing them on what to do.

I've had a few customers in the past had these valves (REV), but always ended up calling me back for new OEM ITR valves *shoulder shroug"

even though its a common thing on this board to run itr springs with portflow inners. i think there are better options out there. portflow is a good setup for the money though, i would rather have a few other options though instead of those.

the retainer in the gsr/99+ b16/itr is the same thing across the board.

new oem retainers are cheap and a decent choice for running up to 9.5krpm
