rock cracked my windshield today...
on the way to school a rock the side of my thumbnail comes flying into the driver's side of my windshild and makes a small web-looking crack the size of a nickel.
my question is will this spread? or can i just leave it? also is there anyway to fix this w/o replacing the windshield?
<---looked like this all day at school cause the crack is ugly

i am pretty sure it is not fixable w/o replacing the windshield. just dont tap on it or hit it so it doesnt spread. i think it will eventually spread but not for a long while
some places around here actually fill rock chips of that size
i've also seen a kit at Wal-Mart made to fix small chips
it's like $50 to have it done or $15 for the kit

thats something new...i guess ill check into the no claim possibility and see where that gets me. thanks for your help guys!!
also if i just get it fixed. what kind of glass co. are we talking about here? and how much for the nickel sized web-looking crack?

I caught a rock in my windshield and it made a crack the size of a quater. Insurance company had someone come out to "repair" it for free, but it didn't do crap. It was still obvious as hell, it just didn't have the light glare at you through the crack.
It didn't seal it though. Over the weekend, I noticed that it is growing. Was hoping it could last me until ~December, but probably won't.
It probably won't go away, and make sure they seal it really good, else it could grow.

yeah the crack will constantly spread..My dad's camry had that problem..you may need to replace the whole windshield..the good thing is that you can have them come to you to fix it
If the crack has "spider-webbed" the glass company may not be able to fix it.
Should be like $10 though if they can.
