Default New here

Hey whats up, just bought an 88 CRX Si, attempting to make it into a rally car. We have the car completely stripped and we are waiting to put in the roll cage and get it running properly. Pics will be up soon.

Yes I know there are trees in my engine bay...yes I know it's gonna take work...but I got it running in 2 days and moving along nicely!

BTW if anyone wants any interior pieces, rear esp. let me know!

My main page and other car(s)-

Also: I'm getting an extra motor for free...a D16-ZC I think?! I'm told basically the DOHC version of my current one...any probs or things to look for in this swaplike tranny probs with keeping the same stock tranny as the other D series already in it. Yeah, I will search more on it when the time comes but I fig'd I'd ask since I'm here! Thanks guys-

there is a DOHC ZC engine although there have been a lot of arguements as to its capabilities/potential. I know some people might get mad at me but i would suggest a D16Z6 or D16A6 engine from(in order) a 92-95 civic and del sol and 88-91 CRX Si. There are a plethora of upgrades for both those engines. Good luck on your project man, it should be cool when its done.

wow dude, your an *******, relax a little bit, its people like you that give this board a bad name, why dont you put something ueful in your post..... ***

and now for my useful bit, i definitely think you should go with the D16Z6, there are a million turbocharger systems for the Z6, and relatively few for the ZC.

Judging my the door sills thats a 88 right? if so dont hurt it. I have looked for a 88 silver si for close to 3 years, The other person I found with one wouldnt sell it to me cause he was a redneck who was going to take it mudding in the big deep rut truck tracks andgravel pits and said I could buy it when he bent the unibody That thing has a great body and he was going to ruin it
Anyway good luck, I can see she was already hurt at one point.

What in the hell are you guys arguing about .

all of these motors produce about the same HP and when going turbo any of em are pretty much the same. dont go over 180-200hp worth of boost or you will be buying another.

I think my CRX is the first silver Si I've ever seen now that I think about it...and yeah I grabbed her out of a junkyard, I could have rallied my 91 GTI but it was in mint shape so I fig'd I could sell that and keep a lil $$ on the side for this project. I got the car for $600 with all of the parts that appear to be broken or missing being replaced for free as well as that extra motor....so I think I made out ok.

As far as turboing it...I'll custom fab something up IF I do. I've played with enough DSM's and WRX's to know about how to play with boost (NOT ghetto rigged) but I'm doing all the research before dipping into a honda motor Esp as far as compression ratio's are concerned.

Thanks for all the posts/replies/help so far tho!

Rally CRX project update: I put on a new cap/rotor and a fuel pump out of an integra on it so far along with new belts, and all the nec. tune up ordeals (oil, new gas, wires, NGK's etc.). Now we're getting no spark ...we traced it back to the coilpack and think that may be the cause. I'll just keep updating it on here I think.

Hmmm...pm me with what ur looking for for the cage and what kind of steel/welds are/were used. Thanks for the info!

As far as AWD, I'm not doing that. You don't need AWD t orally...in fact I've seen a Mustang 5.0 in the sno-drift and LSPR rallies and he's a damn good driver!

UPDATE: It's running AWESOME! Some inline fuses and wiring as well as the fuel filter/pump etc. and a new alternator and belts got her going. The inside is now flat black and looks great.

I'm still looking for a set of used Sparco EVO/2 or Pro2000 set of seats I don't care how crappy they are looking as long as they're not cracked. Anyone?

Thanks!
