No, It's false. You may get an extra 5 miles to a tank and some sore arms.

I have an H22 swap and because of the swap, I left my power steering out. It is kind of hard to turn the wheel whenever the car isn't moving, but if the car gains a little momentum (like 2 mph), it is fairly easy to turn the wheel. Whenver the car is moving faster , however, the feedback from the steering wheel is amazing. The steering is more direct and firm.

just dont rest your thumb on the spoke when going over some potholes...

it's good to invest in some aftermarket steering wheels also.

Unless you're doing it for track purposes, it's not even worth the hassle IMO. You will eventually ruin the rack and pinion if you drive without it for a long period.

No sore arms here. Well, before they were but now they're just bigger.

Oh and as long as there's some fluid in the rack and non of its leaking it should be fine. No worries for damages here.

Amber (?) I think, was like 110lbs and she was more than capable of steering her h22a 4th gen w/o power steering, in fact, she said she had no problems with it. So, if you're a guy and you're over 110lbs, you have no excuse *laughs*

Seriously though, other than very low speed driving, the power steering is more of a hindrence to a hard driver. I just wish that a manual steering box was available that'd swap in.
