Urgent ECU Tuning problem for hi-comp R motor
One of my friend has a R motor with:
- PCT pistons
- TODA B cams with valve springs, TODA cam gears
- OEM head gasket
- P&P head
- Accord EuroR injectors (Honda part#06164-PDE-E00)
- SPOON 70mm Throttle body
- FGK Power Getter get back
- Mugen intake
- stock R FPR
- Skyline GT-R's fuel pump(forgot how many cc it is)
- and some other minor stuff
He got a ECU reprogrammed for his engine but unfortunately there's some problem came up. Engine starts to have both knock & ping and after he installed his wideband o2 sensor. He found the following problems & data:
1.AFR shows 18:1 under idle
2.AFR shows 17.9:1 during 3500rpm, 5th gear
3.AFR shows 17.6:1, 3rd gear full throttle
If he tap on the gas pedal under neutral it shows 13-15:1, but when ever he put it into gear the AFR bumps up to 17-19:1
After he swapped to a stock P2T ECU, it shows:
1.AFR shows 13.8:1 under cranking/start up
2.AFR shows 8:1 and then error
Is there anyway to check if the software match with injectors or not?
Will it helps if he install an aftermarket FPR?
Is there any other mechanical parts that will infect the air fuel ratio?
Pls help, many many thanks!

do they need a restistor pack?
i konw the 98-99 obd2 doesnt
but the h22a obd2 does,
do you happen to have the stcok gsr injectors... try those out first.
what is the timing at? and also, may wanna to invest in an ingition so you can tune the timing.
is this an obd2 car? or obd1?

It looks like your buddy got more than just minor things done to his motor, he should take his car to a shop to have a professional fine tune the ecu to match the mods that he's done, instead of just having someone program it even though they don't know what he's done to the motor. It looks like the air and fuel ratio is running lean with the wideband O2 sensor so a you'll need to richen that part of the RPM band to get a more stable 14.0:1, you can only do this with a dynometer for accurate tuning though. Hondata makes a fully reprogrammable ECU for Honda's, it also comes with its own software. But you'll need to have an undstanding of how to read air and fuel maps so that you can fine tune what ever needs tuning.

which wideband o2 sensor ? did he calibrate it first to "free air" ? sounds like its just the wideband is wrong.

It's an OBD2 car. And running stock 16degrees timing.
Gotta change to some Denso IK24 spark plugs soon.
