Default Shady Acura Dealer Work

So a while back I posted about my car turning to safe mode for no apparent reason, checked the code, it says vtec pressure switch. Take it into acura, they say oil pan is to dented (no oil pressure, no vtec)...ok, they change pan. THEN they tell me vtec pressure switch is bad...hmmm well I guess I got a new oil pan for no reason, I was upset but didn't care THAT much since they cut labor charges. Fast forward 5 months, my car starts to smell like burning oil...?.....smoke starts comming from the engine bay, #&&$@$& could this be!?!? Jack the car up see that there is oil dripping from both sides on the oil pan around where the header connects to the cat...and...wtf...there are a couple nuts and bolts missing from the oil pan. Well took it back in this morning and they said OOPS! Must have forgot to tighten a couple bolts and nuts on dat der oil pan. Talk about sketchy...blah...just happy the thing didnt fall off on the freeway, I wouldn't have even had time to turn the engine off before it seezed.

Clif notes: Oakland acura did some shady work on my car, resulted in some burnt oil and a scared monkey...

Yeah, make them fix it and double check their work before you leave the lot. Also you should always question whatever they do.

I wouldn't pay anything since it was their mistake and you possibly could've had a ruined motor.

Blown engine would be a good reason to get a new motor. Should have done that.

Ive got a good engine, 60xxx miles and 235 compression across the board, no need for unwanted hassle, but it would have been great if I took a friends blown block and tricked um...

I check my car out right there on the dealer lot before I leave. Everytime, I always find something they forgot.

not only does the acura dealer sometimes mess up your car, my friend the other day went to get a gasket seal for his valve cover and it cost him like an arm and a leg when it should have been like 5-6 bucks, something a little cheaper i was thinking

its amazing that same mechanic was there 5 months later... I would suggest speaking to the manager there for your time and trouble spent.

That's weird; last time I bought a valve cover gasket, it was only $8. I got it at A&H Motorsports (www.ahmotor.com). That dealer mark-up is ridiculous.

I think this happens because those techs are most likely on flat rate and want to rush the job. This is what happens when half *** mechanics don't take their time.
