yea im taking my power steering and ac out really really soon, possibly this weekend...i need to buy a part however if i want to take all of the power steering out...i could just take the belt off...but i heard its easier to turn with everything gone..i heard the part was around 30 bucks or so..im not sure if its a hp increase so much as it is just a weight reduction type thing...i may be wrong but thats just what i heard...also the ac weighs a **** load man..just take that out and get some fogex stuff for ur window if thats y u have i in there..

I suggest removing the power steering for sure. If you gut the whole setup its around 30lbs give or take. You always free up a bit of whp i hear, and also a better response to the road. Power steering is for the lazy wimpy guys out there .

also, the a/c, cruise control, rear wiper assembly are all something you can get rid of to lose some weight

that's what I say, I sometimes don't like my CRX that has no power steering...
When I jump in the Teg, I feel much stronger when I'm steering, lol.

actually it doesnt increase hp but releases a load off the cranks and frees up some power. the a/c on the other hand does not affect the power of the car unless it is turned on. the power steering does, just turn the wheel when your car is at a stand still and see your rpm fluctuate some.

there is a dyno of a itr on this board that saw an improvement of 6whp with the power steering off.

OK for you guys that say that power steering being removed DOES NOT help, your wrong. When you are worried about your times on the track, every single LITTLE or BIG thing you do to add HP/reduce weight is going to make a difference. And as far as it being harder to steer, its only a minute difference when you are at a stand still. So in other words dont be a wimp and complain that its hard.

I had the PS belt off for a while when I put my B16 in and all I could say is low speed manuvering SUCKED. and I did not notice any difference. keep your PS, or get a manual rack because power racks without a belt are ****.
