tokico hp's w/ground controls
quick question for all you h-t post ******, er i mean, good dudes...ha. (yes i searched guys) ok, anyways, i purchased the ground control limited edition coilovers last january. i also purchased tokico hp shocks to go with the coilovers. my question is are the tokicos a good mate for the the ground controls? what kind of ride can i expect to have if i lower it about 1.3" or however much i need to eliminate my wheel gap over 16" rotas? thanks.
thats why the ground controls are adjustable. trial and error. dont ask... do it.
as for the combination... they are both good products. ride will be sweet and low.

That's the setup i'm getting for my GSR this sunday. The ride should be REAL REAL smooth, almost stock like. But i'll tell you when i get it installed this weekend

I'm sure you could MAKE it track worthy.
I think you would be better off with like a Koni adjustable strut and/or some custom rate ground controls.
If you do decide to stick with the hps, I would probably just recommend the ITR rearsway bar as your first suspension modification. I have heard very good things about it.
After adding that, see how you feel about how the car drives. If not satisfied you can add other stiffening bars, (ie. upper strut tower, lower tie, etc etc.)
How a car handles also has alot to do with personal preference.
I have GCs on HPs, and am not reallly satisfied with the handling of my car. (then again the only other real suspension mod is an ITR upper strut tower bar.)
Good luck!

tokico hp's are tokico blues right? these are more stock "replacement" shocks therefore have the tendency to blow sooner than others if your car is lowered too much etc.

that would be a false statement. they are not oem replacements. they are valved and stemed for lowered cars.
to anwser your question i've been running that same setup on my da6 for about 2.5 years. i love the combo. make sure to invest in a camber kit too. you'll need it.

not really, the HP's are only about 20% stiffer than stock, and they can't really handle much of a drop or much stiffer spring rates. My friend had them with Neuspeed Race springs and it was HORRIBLE. I do not recommend them if you want a noticeable drop and also hope to get noticeable handling gains.
