WTB: Royal Purple...
That stuff is awesome. My buddy uses it every oil change. He bought his car with 130000 and now has 170000 on a stock ls motor. Stuff is amazing and he beats the crap out of it day in and day out. everyhting else seems to break on the motor, but the motor runs perfect. We have it at a local auto shop around here. And i think ou can get it offline at any import parts place. I think nopi sells it too?? Not posotive

are you joking me? I can see you saying that for a stock motor, but there IS a reason they make different weights/ratings...dont be an ***. Guess it is true that the guys with the fast cars dont always know their dick from a pebble on the ground.

There are quite a few advantages to using a synthetic oil.
Did you know that 65% of regular engine wear and tear happens during a cold start??
With regular oil you have to let the car sit for a good 1-1 1/2 minutes in order for the oil to flow throughout the engine but that's not true with synthetic oil.
With synthetic oil you can start the car and drive(as long as you keep it under 4000rpm till the rest of the engine and drivetrain warm up fully) with alot less wear and tear on your motor.
That's just one reason and an important one at that.
Also synthetic oil doesn't break down as fast as a regular oil does. Under extreme pressure and heat as most All Motor, turbo and supercharged motors produce the synthetic oil provides much better protection against friction.
Thirdly Synthetic oils have conditioners in them which re-conditions the seals and gaskets. Over time your seals and gaskets get old and dried out and start to shrink allowing engine sweats and minor leaks to start which can become bigger leaks. synthetic oils have conditioners in them to prevent seals and gaskets from drying out and shrinking and even re-condition dried out seals and gaskets and help them to swell back up and stop any sweats or minor engine leaks.
These are a few VERY good reasons to use synthetic oil.
Hope this helps.

lol, why dont you explain it then if you know everything. we arent talking the difference in oil weights and viscostity ratings. he wants to know why one brand is better than the other. speak up all knowing.

that post above sounds like it was copied word for word off of a mobil 1 bottle.
there have been HUGE HUGE threads in the past about oil types. do some research and make your own judgment. personally i agree that if you change your oil often enough chances are readular oil will be good neough but i still use synthetic (mobil 1)

That made no sense, you cant believe in doing one thing then say that the complete opposite is what youd do.

how does my post not make any sense. i know synthetic is better than regular oil. thats why i use it in my car, i have for the last 5 years and will continue to do so.
now what i said was that regular oil will be GOOD ENOUGH to get the job done if you change it OFTEN.
i also said that there have been long long technical discussions and i repeat technical data comparing different types of oils and for the poster to make his own decision.

dont hammer me, read what you read. it sounds like something you would hear in an infomercial.

back to the topic...you can buy royal purple at jegs, thats where i used to get mine...i ran the racing9 oil (0w-10), my car ran great, but i started going through oil like crazy...not to mention that $8.00 per quart was killing me...if i run it again, i will stick with the 5w-30. but chances are, i will run mobil 1.
How does that sound like I have a chip on my shoulder?? Once again you get a
I made a true statement if your cheap to your car then it will be expensive down the road it's simple really.
So tell me this how is regular oil "good enough" if you change it regularly when cold starts account for 65% of wear and tear to your engine and regular oil doesn't protect against that?? Think about it.

you are hilarious. show me some proof that exactly 65% of wear happens when i start my car. you are just reciting bs facts. ive have never ever seen an engine that was using regular oil, changed every 3k miles or less, simply wear out. not a honda atleast. now just be quiet, i think we have ALL had about enough outta you.

couldnt agree more. spouting out useless percentages is great and all, that sells product, but your making it out like your engine will seize if you dont use synthetic. theres all kinds of people out there that change there oil with regular oil and get 200k miles or more on hondas, toyotas, nissans ect.

hahhaa whatever buddy. Don't tell me to be quiet I'll say what I please and if you have a problem with it then don't read. You have your beliefs and I have mine and if you can't take it then you shouldn't be on a forum where many people have different opinions.
You talk as if you're the man around here telling people what to do and what to say. You're about as much of "the man" as a little school girl. If you don't agree with me that's fine but don't ever try and tell me what to do, running your mouth like you own Honda-Tech.
Lastly I never said an engine would seize if regular oil was used all I said was that MORE wear and tear happens with the use of regular oil which is a proven fact.
Anyways this was a waste of my time typing this out maybe some people agreed but I'm not gonna sit here and argue with someone like yourself who thinks they know it all. I posted things that I know to be true from working in the oil industry you can believe what you want.
