Default Integra Torque Converter question... yes, that means AT, not MT

I had a 1st gen teg XSi Torque Converter leftover from an OBD-0 B16A swap. A board member just bought it and had me send it to Level Ten in Hamburg, NJ so they could do a Stage3 race job on it.

The H-T member wants to put it in his 94 teg's tranny. Will it fit, since it's from a 90-93 tranny?

it should fit no broblem. but you might want to ask level ten to double check.

Yeah, the buyer said he asked them, and they know even less about the application compatability than he does! They usually just take the core, cut it open, upgrade it, and send it back, assuming it's going back into the same tranny it came out of. I'd hate to see $500+ wasted. If it was me, I'd want to be 100% absolutely positively sure it will work first before spending that kind of $$$.

the only thing I know that will separate the 94+ teg and 90-93 tegs are that the 2nd gen teg have the S4-S3 shifter selection when the 94+ tegs don't have. other then one is hydro and the other is cable I don't see anything else difference that won't make it compatible. just my .02

I will definitely post up the differences between E.T.s, driveability, etc when I get an answer to this question; There are tons of 94+'s just sitting in peoples garages taking up space; Ive tried IM'ing people who have done the conversion, but I just cant find anyone for some reason

If you know anyone that has done a conversion, Im offering $50 shipped for the converter

I looked up the part numbers and they are a little bit different, so I dont really want to take a $500 chance

hey J,

Sorry about that. John at Level10 called when he got the package to ask what the deal was. I told him it was for you, that seemed to answer his question. There's got to be somebody on the board that knows the answer to our question. I'm pretty curious myself now.

I installed a '96 LS AUTO tranny a few months ago, I should've taken that 90-93 torque converter and seen if it would fit .

I sent him an email when you sent it out telling him to wait until I got a definite answer; guess he did not get it

Turns out he did not get the e-mail somehow; the converter showed up via UPS today; so I called him and Im just gonna rip it open, see if it is the same/fits and go from there

so they sent it back to you from level10, untouched, right? They must have repackaged it then, because i know I sent it to them via FedEx.
Did they even charge you for shipping NJ to TX?

Let me know if it fits your tranny. By the way, why not send your old one in? Worried about downtime?

he actually claimed that he never got my e-mail and so they went ahead and did the work

I am going to pull it out and see if it will work; if not, he said he would talk to his boss and see if they can work something out

If it does not fit, I will just send them mine while I have it out; I thought it would just be easier to buy a new one, but I guess not, huh?
