My wheel locks stick out......affect wheel balancing???
i know this is a stupid question.....
but i just picked up some Acura wheel locks and the first think i noticed was that the wheel locks are longer than my stock lug nuts. it is noticably heavier than the stock lugs also...maybe weighing a little less than two of my lug nuts together.
anyways, my question is, considering that the wheel lock is heavier than the other four lug nuts on the hub, will it affect the balance of the wheel as it spins??
my *guess is that since it's so close to the center of the wheel it won't matter much. but anyone know for sure?
i drive all highway miles at high speeds so any little excess shimmy of the wheel would drive me nuts. i've already put the lugs on and after 80 or so i do feel a little shimmy, but i'm not sure if this is just my mind playing tricks on me and that i'm noticing it more.
BTW, are the Type R lugs shorter/lighter than the regular Acura lugs?
the lugs on my Type R are 2/3 the size/weight of my Acura TL lugs. I bought the lugs used from another type r owner on the board after i bought my stock wheels....so i'm supposing they ARE type r lugs.
thanks in advance!!
