Default New Updated Setup for my Hatch

This is the setup i will be runnin on my 92 cx. It has a b18c1 in it.

-JE Pistons 12.5:1
-P&P stock GSR head (portflow)
-JUN stage 3 cams
-ITR inner and portflow outer springs
-skunk2 intake manifold
-ITR TB
-bigger injectors 440cc
-bigger fuel pump 190lph
-Hondata
-Skunk2 cam gears

i might get a bigger TB. Also i plan on going 2L in the future so that is the reason for the 440cc injectors. Any comments are welcome. i plan on being in the low 13's with my azenis.

your going to need the bigger injectors for the hondata anyways....i don't think you need 440 though? that's a little overkill

i plan on going 2L in the future and was told that 440 would be better for a 2L setup. I can just tune them down for now

are you at a high elevation?

damn, with that setup and that light chassis I would hope you'll hit 12's. The only other thing I'd say is pay some attention to your tranny and gearing. With the setup you're running I'd either sell the GSR tranny and go with a JDM ITR tranny or just put an LSD and either a JDM FD or an ATS 4.9 FD in your GSR.

Good choices otherwise.

if you want 2.0 later on, then do it right now. you will waste a ton of money if you build a 1.8 then go 2.0 later

i would personaly get stiffer springs compared to the portflow/itr setup. even though alot of people run them, i dont think they are the best option. get some toda springs or something if you want some jdm bling, or get ib spec or ef-1/rocket springs
i would also upgrade pistons instead of je. go with a ibspec or rlz wiseco piston, or a cp piston from rocket or earl.

you should pick up at least 10whp from getting those pistons compared to je

aem cam gears arent all that great. get some st corse cam gears from tweikmeister

remember to have an extra 2k in the bank for hitting unexpected costs you might come across. and also have plenty money for spending at least an hour or possible 2 hours on the dyno getting it tuned.

you might want to look into other intake manifolds. there will bealot coming out within the next couple months. jg has some good stuff, aebs, ib spec, rlz, i think tinker fab is doing something too.
the skunk2 isnt all that great, but it is available now and is better than the gsr IM

you could also upgrade your gsr IM and have someone port it.

if tom at portflow is going to port your head, ask him if he can do some work on it. or what he recomends.

and who is gona build your bottom end and put everything together?
you can spend mucho bux on a setup, and have it done by a retard shop that say they are the best and only make weak sauce power.

or have it done by a proven shop with some really fast cars and spend less money.
hope that helps

actually i was going to get JUN valvetrain. ill look into the piston deal. i gotta think prices though. im probably getting Skunk2 cam gears as well. The IM is somthing that can be gotten later when all the results on the new **** come out. i really wanna get this done by the end of the year(haha like that is going to happen). The tuning is gonna be a pain but with Hondata and a good tuner it should work out fine and make the car run how its supposed to run.

well if steve is going to build the motor for you, then I would prolly just tell him you have "$xxx" amount of money and you want to have a certain hp goal.

i know steve can build some good motors. its always important to let the engine builder pick what he wants to go into the motor.

its like when you go to a resteraunt. if you want the best food, you trust that the chef gets all the good ingredients. you dont bring your own cut of meat or your own sauce. you let the chef take care of everything.
if steve can build the motor and do all the tuning, that would be even better.

je pistons are what 350 or 400? so you are saving a whopping 100 dollars? maybe 175? that is nothing in comparison if you are going to go all motor. dont do the project and you are on a real tight budget.

you are spending too much money for trying to hit 12's

ctr pistons with itr cams and a kick *** header tuned by steve is plenty.

with your portflow head that should help out even more

well i can afford the setup i have previously decided on. what is the realistic outcome of the setup. i did a little research and i saw most people were in the 12s with similar setups. that was on street tires. i want to run 12's on street tires. is that more realistic.
