Default DX to Si swap question...why not OBD1 injectors?

k, this has been going threw my head for a couple weeks now: when doing a DX to whatever swap why cant use just use OBD1 injectors? then you dont need to wire up a resistor box, right? im am not seeing a reason that you cant, just thought i would bounce it off you guys....

The injector resistors are controlled by the injector resistor box and ECU.

But OBD1 can control from ECU or INJECTOR.

You can use ur OBD0 injector from si/hf but you need to keep the box with OBD1 why do that???

hope it makes sense.

There is absolutely no reason to not use OBD1 injectors with a MPFI swap. You are right, you don't need the resistor box in this case.

you can use OBD1 injectors but you need a resistor box. If you take the time to wire in a resistor box, why not use OBD0 injectors.

the ECU however, does. it is programmed to read peak & hold injectors, well rather the resistance of the injector.

The ecu has injector drivers, basically little relays that can only take so much current before going up in smoke. It doesn't care if you have peak and hold (low impedance) injectors or saturated (high impedance). All the ecu cares about is the final impedance. The injector resistor box is a current limiter to keep from frying injector drivers when using low impedance injectors.

I put the obd1 injectors in when i did my mpfi swap. You have to use the resistor box just becuz its needed for the ecu. The only reason i did this is becuz the injectors had less than 15000 miles on them and i swaped the z6 fuel rail on to my a6 intake mani, along with the z6 fpr. I just took the dremel and took the corners off the obd0 injector plugs and the new injectors plugged right in and work great so far.
