Just picked up a b17,A couple og Q's for you guys
How you doing? I just picked up a b17 engine. I have the ecu and everything else. I picked up a obd0>obd1 wire conversion. I have a 88 crx dx. I got the SI resistor box and injectors, I also have the b series mounts, shiftlinkage and other things. It came with no tranny. I was wondering what kind of tranny would work best for this engine? I plan on going turbo. And do I have all of the parts necessary for this swap? Any help would be appreciated, and any helpful links would be appreciated aswell. Thanks in advance
Well its all up to you. I would just throw on an easy to find ls CABLE tranny for rite now. Or you can buy that cable to hydro kit that hasport has and have a newer B series tranny.
Like i said its all up to u.
Did you convert to mpfi yet?

I have 2 90-91 LS trannies laying around right now... Let me know if you need one.
I wish I could have found a nice b17 when I was looking, but everyone wants jsut too damn much for them!

I got the engine for 500. No tranny. I guess I was lucky. I really don't know much about these though. The car is not mpfi,I was under the impression that all I needed was the injector box and swap the new engine in. Not sure though. Also what kind of axles do I need?
Since you intend to turbo the motor, then your best bet is something with long gearing. Look into getting a cable LS tranny. Using a hydro one and a hydor/cable converter would be a total waste of money. It's not going to feel super quick while you run it without boost, but you will appreciate the long gears when you do.

you need 90-93 integra axles....actually it depends on what kind of haft shaft you have some half shafts are male ended and some are female............i think the older half shafts like 90-93 integra are female ended and you need 90-93 axles which are double male ended if yoiu have a male ended half shaft which i believe are 94 and up integras then you will need 94 and up integra axles did you check the compression on that engine before buying it because thats an insane deal on this engine......or did you get just the block and head no dizzy injectors ecu intake mani..........if you got everything except tranny i would check the compression once you start it.........or go have t checked for spun bearings................
The engines good, I got it from a friend of mine. He blew his GSR,picked this engine up and didn't have a hoist to put it in. He wanted me and him to do the whole lift the car over the engine BS. I was like no. He got frustrated and sold the whole thing to me,minus the tranny. I knew he would get pissed that I wouldn't help and do something crazy

Everyone is so quick to say ls tranny. But I think if you are using a cable tranny and planning on boosting a vtec motor wouldn't it be better to have slightly shorter gears than ls. I plan to put y1 tranny in my 90 integra to shorten up 3rd,4th,5th gear.
