40k of awesome miles and one morning I find it very hard to shift. The car shakes sometimes, and other times just doesn't want to go into gear.
Having seen it before I could guess what it was. Dropped the tranny tonight, and *surprise*
Comptech AL 6.75lbs flywheel and Action 1KS clutch going in tomorrow!

I'm holding but my hands are slipping....
a lot of the ITR guys went to get warranty service done since this was so common (search archives). I'd rather upgrade and not let the dealer touch the car
the friction surface still has plenty of miles...

I've seen some beat up disks...I'd like to see yours. I should post the one that's worn down to metal about as thick as tinfoil

Holy ****!!! I've been having the same issues with my tranny ('95 GSR) at first I thought it was the clutch pressure plate. Then the pedal started going from soft to stiff, so I was like great, it's the damn hydraulics in the system. Yet I didn't know whether it was the master or slave cylinder. You seemed to have the same problems as me, and I've been told by my mechanic that sometimes one of those springs on the clutch pop out. So you help validate that assumption of the clutch.
Thanks
Thanks
when the pedal gets all stiff it can mean the housing for the spring is starting to chip and making it not work properly. worst case the spring pops out like you said. You should prob replace it before the whole thing grenades.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, the car is no fun at that point. I almost had an accident because 2nd gear was a no show...good thing the motor revs fairly high, I got out of that situation by gunning the motor
