its either some odd *** sensor, or it could be the ignition switch.
on the ignition switch, there are 2 contacts. a starter contact and a constant power contact, the constant power contact is use to keep the car on.

how many miles on the car?

Sounds like your ignitor might be going bad...

If this is repeatable, it sounds like it's temperature related. Is the ECU showing any codes? It sounds like one of the sensors, alright, when it gets to a certain temp the sensor opens up and shuts the motor down. It should show up in the ECU. If it's still in warranty take it to a dealership and run diagnostics on it.

its not throwing any codes. i work at acura and have had a few tech take a look at it and they have not found anything, they just suggested my distributer. i have checked all the connections. what sensor would shut the car off like that? there is about 60k on the body and 30k on the motor.
thanks.

After the car dies, try taking out a plug and grounding it the crank the engine. See is there is a spark, if not then it may be dist. related.

I had the ignitor go bad on my '93Si, it choked and stalled right in the middle of nowhere. It did start up and run long enough to make it to a repair shop, but the check engine light was on solid. It doesn't make sense why it would work fine and then conk out for no reason with an OBDII ECU. Maybe it's the ECU itself. From what you said this is a swapped engine. Maybe there's a loose wire in a connector somewhere.
