Has anyone ever blacked out there tail lights on a GEN 3????
I'm thinking about doing it, I hate altezza's and really just looking for another option for tail lights.

 

blacking out your tail lights is as bad as alteezas. plus the light output is far worse too. dont do it.

 

There's a black Integra down here that has it done. It looks ok I guess. Kind of stealthy but not something I'd do. Whatever floats your boat.

 

just get some black film tape **** and slap that on your taillights, that way if you dont like em or you get sick of it you can just peel those suckers right off and be back to your stock taillights.... this idea compensate for tinting them with paint?

 

OK I didn't think of light output good reason not to. I'm just going to get some 98 tails and call it a day. But I might try that film tape thu.

If you use the right stuff, your light output will not be affected:


It allows the brake lights to be seen just as well as if it weren't even there...

i used that on my gen 3...i got it from a local shop around here...it was like 8.99 a can i think. i personally like the way it came out, i did my turn signals up front and my tails. the light out put is still fine too, the only thing i would do different(i may change this over the witner) is mask off your reverse light and tint everything but that. i just want all that light shining thru so i can see where the fock im goin. my friend used it on his civic too, real easy to remove..i think he used laquer thinner.

You should have put a layer of clear coat on those. When I first did mine, they were a flat smoked color like that. The clear coat I used (Krylon) adds a nice glossy finish to them.

i did put clear on them , for some reason they didnt come like shiny though. i might have made thme too dark

i said the taillights look like the taillights of a Geo Metro because they look faded and nasty, wasen't talking about the rest of your car, for all i know the rest could be nice, but IMO not the tails.

I think you need some commas in there or some better sentance structure.

Yeah, I agree with the guy that said they were as bad as altezzas when you BLACK out your taillights..


However, If its lightly smoked it looks good on the right car.

I am probably making more money than you ever were at 18, even when i was 17 I was still probably making more money then you. Your car isn't the best integra in the world, it's far from it. All i see is an R with 20k wasted money converting it something that could accept boost better, should've stuck with a GSR there buddy, could've saved you a whole lot.

i wouldnt be too sure of that . I had cars when i was 16-17-18-19 that were much nicer. matter of fact i sold my 99GS that was fully modded when i was 19 to get a BMW that i fully modded and sold for the R. trust me im sure i have had more toys in my stable then you will ever have.
im glad you think my R is alot of wasted money. Its called being different. i f i wanted to be like everyone else here i woulda got another GS or gsr and boosted it , but i like to be diff amongst having higher standards that a GSr or LS couldnt offer me.

The last thing I am is some punk kid, all you are is a punk kid who grew up and are still acting like a little bitch. I guess you succeded in being different though, painted your stock ITR tails with pep boys special tint in a bottle definatly got the the title of "top 10 ugliest Type Rs". I hope your happy being different, to me you "being different" looks like an integra who despretly wants to be a grand prix.

BTW My car is far from stock, just because you have a turbo setup worth $xx.xx dosen't make you most knowledgable most experienced person.
