I've gotten a number of pm's from people in regard to the personalized plate.
Here's what im going to do. As soon as i give up the plate (will be in the next couple of days or early next week.) I am going to come on here and post to
let everyone know. Then whoever gets to the dmv first gets the plate.

umm i need some more information.. is it like i could go into any of thos driver's license place and get it? they wouldnt just have it there.. how am i going to get your plate?
or do you mean there's no more 8400rpm "user" which is you so i could use it now.. and i will have to pay for the plate right?

I'm not sure that they automatically make it available the next day. There may be some unspecified "waiting period", or it may just take a while for the computers to catch up with it. So it's now a crapshoot as far as who will get it.
Too bad - you could have given it to a deserving ITR fan by having them transfer the plate to their name and car (yes, you can do this - I've done it) instead of just giving it up.

what you can do is give your actaul plates to the person who wnats them, and have them go down to the ministry and get a forum to fill out to transfer the plates to their name.
I got a personalzed palte from a friend and he gave me the forum with the plate, all he had to do was fill in his information and i filled in mine, easy as pie

Where I live, you can transfer any plate - personalized or not - and it does not have to be to someone who is related. The current owner just has to sign a special form, that's all.
Maybe the rules in your province are different from mine, though, eh?
