Hondata or VAFC, cam gears, and dyno tuning.

I dont think they need more than 12.5:1 to operate correctly, do they?

you will deff. need more compression other wise it will just be a waste, some thing around 11.5 should be cool unless you want to go higher. Then hondata is a must along with their mani gasket and a SKink manifold. As long as you have all the other bolt ons then that is really it beside maybe boaring the block, depends really !! have fun should be a nice setup, doing a similar set up on a customer car on Thursday!

What header do you currently have? Header is a big difference.

if you want the optimal performance from the motor then u might want to look into getting a better header : DTR (www.DTRFAB.com) a SMSP, Hytec, etc. These are far superior to the one you have and would make a huge difference in performance, they are well woth the money!

well said...
but with the price of one of those headers i'd rather invest in a gsr/itr shortblock

I had the DC 4-1 when I first installed my jun 3's. Man did my car bogg like hell trying when vtec engaged. You need a real header.

Yep, I can believe it, those headers just cant flow enough for the motor or the cams really to make the power that they really can ! spending 300 buck on a DC header( or how ever much they are ) is really waste in my eyes, cause anyone that wants to make big power that has or had them nearly always ends up selling them for a better one.....if you look at dyno plots there are sometimes up to a 20hp gain from using a topnotch header......$1000 buck for that kinda gain aint to bad i think !!
