Default JDM b18c GSR engine swap in del sol

what do you guys think? i have the base b15 motor with 106 hpand it's slow as crap, you think i'd feel a huge difference in power, with 178 hp and 134 trq? will i be able to keep up with a GSR theN? or a stock 97 vtec prelude?

you will feel a huge difference! even if you were to upgrade to the d15b vtec or d16 vtec, you would still feel a difference. And I would think that with the light weight of the Del Sol and the b18c, you would be able to beat most GSR's depending on the mods you do to it and what they have done to theirs too. As for the Prelude Vtec, once again, it depends on what you do to it, with bolt on's you should be able to beat one.

you mean D15 right?

Anywho... That's quite a significant increase in power. You'd run with some Hype R if you put out that kind of whp. I suggest you look into a swap.

I have a del sol with a JDM GSR B18C with a B16 tranny and all the bolt ons and it a quick little car. Its faster than the avg GSR or Lude with bolt ons. Never ranr the quarter yet but it ran 9.3 in the 1/8 with my non drving azz and horrible wheel hop.

B15, man that is a rare engine. Remember just because you upgrade your power does not make you fast, you have to get the power down. You will not know if 'YOU' can beat a GSR or Prelude VTEC until you go to the track and race one.

I have one in my Coupe. Being that your putting it in a lighter car than mines I can assure you that your gonna love it. All I have is a AEM SRI and N1 cat-back but my car is monster now with the swap. I have beaten so many cars including a Prelude Vtec. Only thing I can advise u to do is to get a Chipped ECU ASAP because the JDM P72 is speed limited and u will find urself getting walked down by alot of cars on the highway that you pulled away from.
