What motor is stock in a 96 accord lx, i think?
I'm getting this car from my mom. She ran it out of oil and instead of trading it in for nothing, i get to buy it for nothing. So anyway what motor is it? I know its a nothing special motor. Not that its even an option now but how hard is the H22 swap? Kinda stupid questions i know but bear with me for a little. Thanks.
well you could look on the block....s/b a f22....lx is non-vtec

The motor in your accord lx is the f22b2 (stamp on engine block to the left of the exhasut manifold).
Swapping a H22 is not that hard. Nothing really "special" to buy parts wise, you can use all Honda OEM and make it work 100% and reliable as a daily driver.

I don't have the car in front of me so i couldn't look at the stamp on the block. I figured i'd ask because there are alot of people on here that would know. So sorry crafty i didn't mean to offend you by not using the search function.
As far as the h22 swap i forgot to mention that it would be a auto to manual swap. Who's done this and what is the best way to go about it. ie should i get a front clip or can all parts be bought easily? Thank you for your help.

actually i wasnt offended at all.....
I was suggesting that because thats a questioned thats asked here a lot and you may have been able to get your answer quicker that way
as far as the tranny swap a clip might be an easier route since you'd have to purchase the clutch/brake pedals, and shift linkage anyways....
here's a useful link to show you this process

it wont be cheap
