Wanna make at least 250 whp all motorstyle
as topic says. What woud be best engine for it? To go in a 94-97 Civic hatch. I want it to be as cheap as possible, so i was thinking of b16a, but then saw b18c5 and likes those torque numbers more. Can someone give me some products, engines, and prices that would get me there?

Thats for sure
You need to pay to play, just be wise and find the best deals on what you need.

anything above 220? I was thinking more like anything above 90 hp ain't cheap. As soon as you swap thats like $4000 usually. On a car thats only for $4000, thats a big chunk of change.
The saying goes;
Reliable, Cheap, Fast
pick any two.

yeah i guess i shouldnt have said cheap. My budget is kind of 6 grand, not including car. Over the next few years i will get more money and do more. I figure b16b w/ LSD 4000, exhaust and intake 1000, 500 for miscellaneous stuff, and 500 more for VTEC controller. Then over time i would replace pistons, get new cams and cam gears and the maybe port and polish. I guess i just want something that can rev high and is exciting to drive

It's going to take a ton more than boltons to make 250whp in an all motor car with a CTR motor. If your looking for high rev's and excitement, IMHO, look at all B-series vtec motors. However, if ya want 250whp all motor, then look to spend $$$. Your looking at at least pistons/rods with high compression, prolly sleeves for peace of mind, good engine management and tuning (hondata or aem ems) on top of all your normal boltons.
Myself, I spent lots of time trying to figure out what I wanted. Then, reality set in, and I did what I had to do with the money I had. I still have my origional plans in mind, but it's not going to be for a while.
Chime in if ya want guys, it's just my 2 pennies.

The B16B is a sweet motor, remember its not as crappy as the B16, but none the less you need more displacement for 250.
And about being cheap, people who are around that number have spent 8-10 grand or more.

I can tell you, that a complete setup, including motor, tranny, axles, ecu, and pretty much every single little part you could need will cost you around $9-13,000 depending on what parts you choose and how "right" you do it..
I can actually provide you with a 250whp excel price list with almost everything you would need to get a complete 250whp NA setup in your car... Personally it's costed me around 10k, but im only shooting for 230whp im just overbuilding.

well i built all motor engines before..and i tried to stay on a budet..but then things start breaking..and some are not cheap..and also you always wanna get more power out of your motor..then thats where the big bucks come in..we'll just leave it as racing is not a cheap sport
