arp head studs necessary??

Default arp head studs necessary??

hey guys, are arp head studs really necessary for a mild ls vtec setup with itr pistons and ls rods??? I know they are not a necessity but do you think I really need them or not???

well heres my 2 cents. i am putting them in to my motor.. i would do it.
oh get some new rods ive heard that LS rods are weak.

necesary if ure goin boost..or high comp NA

I'd do it, just to be on the safe side. I'm putting them in my motor when I put it all back together just in case there was something wrong with my stock ones. I've heard it mentioned that they can stretch if taken in and out of a motor. I'm going to have to clay this motor and will have the studs torqued a few times before it's done.

i belive the stock ones are arent supposed to be re-used because of bolt stretch (i have before though with no problem)

arp or aebs are worth the money IMHO

yeah man, they are only like $20 more than OEM bolts, and they allow you to reuse them about 3 times before they suffer fatigue. Head bolts usually stretch after one use.
Its not the rod itself that is weak in an Ls rod, it is the rod bolt. Fixed once again with ARP rod bolts.

well i would get a set on head studs cuz the stock ones strecth...and u got a lil more compression so ill do it to be safe...AEBS studs are on sale at importparts.com for $115 shipped...jump on it

well i dont wanna give arp a bad name but i broke 2 of them alrdy...dunno how, but i ordered AEBS to replace them...hopefully they hold up
