which balljoint are you replacing? there is one on the end of the lower control arm, and one on the steering arm. i havent replaced mine yet, but i'm pretty sure they have to be pressed out. you may be able to use a BFH to get them out, but getting the new ones back in will be gay. i would take off your lower control arm/knuckle/hub assembly, and take it to a shop to have them press it out and the new one in. they should only charge something like 20 $ a side (tell them youll pay cash, that can usually make a difference). good luck.
interesting....
I was planning on doing it with my mechanic and replacing the part on our own, he said its do able so i think we're just gonna do it manually.
Theres alot of movement in the control arm and that balljoint is really loose so hopefully we can do it alone..

If you're talking about the one at the end of the lower control arm (at the bottom of the brake rotor, after you take the clip out and unscrew the crown nut, you have to use a ball joint remover. basically you wedge it between the control arm and ball joint and hammer away...as it gets hammered in, it'll seperate the ball joint from the arm. They're pressed in and that's why it's so hard to take off
