well in my 3 hours waiting for a flat bed tow truck yesterday i started poking around my engine bay trying to figure out what can be removed, re routed, or hidden...

so what is this component?

that is your Brake proportioning valve. you are NOT going to want to remove that as it will totally mess with your braking bias. About the only maod you can do to it would be to replace it with one from a 4 wheel disc car so you have the right bias if you install discs in the rear. HTH
