prolly the sensor, mine has almost gone out too, i can fill it up and it may stay at E, but then it'll randomly show the correct amount of gas, then it will just stay somwhere between E and F again for a while, the important thing is though that the light will come on with 2 gal left like it is supposed to even if the gauge doesnt work

I think that it is the sensor too things like that seem to happen with accords or hondas in general

If you want to go cheap, just go by miles. There is nothing drastic that can happen to lose that much gas unless your car itself is leaking gas, which is bad. If not, just replace the sensor.

the damn sensor sucks. i'll have about 5 gallons left it's reads almost Empty. i just fill a full tank every time and refill about 340 miles and i calculate my mpg so i know everything is running ok.

Buy a new RSX. The gas gauge is even worse.

the sensor can be replaced from outside of the tank or is it located inside and requires removal of tank?

cause when stuff fails on them they are $$$ to fix and the parts they use are cheap. my friends S4 had 44K on it when his IC hoses cracked. then the Mass airflow sensor went, then since he added an APR chip he had to get bipipes so the stock ones wouldn't crack they are crap. then my friend VR6 GTi is a worse story. a stupid gas sensor is petty, i guess that's my point.

yea, there are little things that tend to go wrong but they can be possibly diagnosed if the car is routinely checked out, plus you have to possess some know how of what things do under the hood, all that kind of stuff, i still want an S4 damnit! there is no convincing me against it! but yea, its an expensive car to buy, and own so i guess i have to factor that in, thats really it!
