ok... i'm putting on a set of side skirts on my car... (92 hatch back) what do you think i should use to hold on the body kit? Rivets, metal screws, or something else? .....open to suggestions.... THANKS

 

Bring it to a body shop...you have to have them painted anyway....?

Screws + that thick double-sided tape is what shops use, I think.

Oh, and prepare for flames!

 

I have someone that does professional paint jobs.... but i've done the rest of the body work myself and there's no good businesses around my area....

 

get it fitted on before getting it paint

just use super glue.. i used super glue and double sided tape.. works fine .. if that doesnt work .. use rope..

Having a body kit doesn't automatically = rice.

That is true, but that's just the way some people think around here. Most complete body kits do look like garbage though with the exception of a few quality and well designed ones. Bring the kit to a shop and let them put it on and paint it, that way if anything looks weird you will have someone to complain to. This way you won't be driving around with an unpainted body kit and look like a stunna.

 

Non painted body = rice ... painted body kit (matching all other paint)= big pimpin... hehe... where i'm from every car has a metal spoiler, under glows and a muffler and then they think they are fast... i hate it!

not true. painted body kits are rice too depending on how ugly and huge they are.

That's not true either... There are things that make a car more aesthetically pleasing and not ricey. For example, do all people get rims to enhance performance? No, because it makes the car nicer looking and that isn't considered rice. But then there are a TON of random useless things which are rice.

I agree, there are things you can do to your car that don't make it faster that are still good\cool. Rice is way over exaggerated these days and people assume anything that isn't go-fast or JDM is rice.
