Default SOHC header

Lookin for a header for my Canadian EX sedan 1993. I think thats the equivalent to an LX in the states (i have rear drums, no abs, no vtec). Anyone have a header on there non-vtec D series and care to elaborate on thoughts of it?

well i think your kind of wasting your money. is your motor stock, and are you sure the canadian ex = us lx? you could spend $1-400 on a header and gain about 5whp . you would be much better off saving your money, and getting something that will make your car substantially quicker. first thing i would suggest would be an US ex transmission.

Ya you may be right. I thought i would entertain the idea because I want new intake and exhaust set up anyways, so thought i could do a header at the same time. THe engine and tranny seems flawless, not sure I want to pick up a used EX tranny that could possibly cause me problems (daily driver).

an ex tranny has way shorter gears. you will go much faster. nothin wrong with getting an i/h/e, but i just think to spend close to a grand for around 15whp is not worth it. unless of course, your in it for the long run and have way more future plans than just boltons (turbo, built na, etc).

I would agree to a certian extent. If he plans to go built N/A then I/H/E is a good plan, but if he plans to go turbo, just save the money. You'll end up needing different stuff anyways.

Well I already have an intake and cat-back exhaust, so i don't really need to get new stuff there, but I may. I never come across any turbo talk for my engine it seems, so i haven't thought much about that. Good idea not getting a header if i was to go FI though.

The intake will go as well if you plan on going FI. You can turbo your motor ( I have the y7 as well and run the Greddy Tdo4h-15g kit from the 92-95 Civic.
