Default How to make my ITR lighter

Well i got a 01 itr and im making 232whp. But the thing is that its really hard to compeat when your getting smoked by gutted out hatchbacks that make a little over 190. So the thing im askin you guys is how can i cut the weight out of my car with out ruining it. i mean its a Type R i dont want to be cut out the whole dash and cut up all the doors or anything. what i have done so far is
1. took out all the seat except for driver.
2. taken out the spare tire

what else can i do?

take out the door panels, all carpeting and panels, airbags, remove power steering, take out a/c, scrape off sound deadening stuff under carpeting. You can't really lose the weight without removing the interior. I would rather have a slower car with a full interior, that's just me though. It seems like you want your interior so just keep it and deal with losing. I don't think you can really compete with a gutted hatch.

1)Lightweight wheels, these will help out a lot, because you are removing rotational mass
2) Carbon Fiber hood
3) Lightweight Battery
4) Remove Rear bumper support and replace with benen strong bar
5)Lightweight Brake Calipers
6)Aftermarket Steering Wheel
7)Plastic Summit Seat for when you're at the track
8) Carbon Fiber/Fiber Glass Rear Hatch
9) Remove ITR Wing

the list can go on, basically the only thing limitting you would be how much cash you are willing to spend heh

Lightweight wheels
carbon hood, fully gut the back
inlcuding Sound deading, seats, carpet, jack, panels, seat belts, im not shure if there is metal peices bolted down in the rear under the rear seats....but if so them too.
If you want: take out all the carpet and sound deadoning underneeth.
A/c compressor and condenser
Ventalation system
Right there you should have shaved about 200+ pounds maybe more

I got mine down to 2350 alst time i checked it , prob be a little heavier once the cage goes in and the pass seat and the panels back in the back .
when i was 2350 without driver it was : no ac, no ps, no abs, no rear seats, no pass seat, no rear panels, took out the brackets to heold the rear seats in , removed rear seatbelt assemblies, lighterweight wheels, cf hood, removed rear bumper support
I think thats about it.
its back up in weight though becuase i had to put it back to more street car trim for my class
