Default 91-93 vs 94-01 ls..?

what are the differences between 94-01 LS and the pre 94 models...i figure there must be a diff, is it something like a knock sensor or something small like that or is the difference as great as for example...93 tranni wont fit on 94 block...i want to get a ls and i see like 91's for like 400-500 and i see 97's for like 750-850(excluding transmissions) which should i go with...besides the fact that ones obdI and the other is obdII , and ones like half the price than the other are there any other differences?

well they are the same except the 91 might have 200K miles and the 97 might have 80k miles. Thats the difference old and new.

The B18B motors have a little more power due to the intake manifold. Longblocks are the same otherwise.

That's mainly because of the YS1 LS tranny gear ratios (vs. the A1 tranny gear ratios) and OBD-0 vs. OBD-1 electronics.

I would hafta disagree with you newman. Maybe the gearing is slightly different and of course yes, the obd difference. But the major factor of the ~10hp is the cams. the 92-93 are definetly larger.

90-91 = 130hp obd0
92-95= 140 hp obd 1

all in all they are pretty much the same speed

Well, G3's are heavier than G2's, but the ten extra ponies might just even it out....Theyre almost identical...
