Sounds like a stretch to me; the bore size would definately be killing the water jackets' cooling efficiency and it probably wouldn't line up with the head's combustion chambers.

I can't say that 100%, though, so this is a bump for more knowledge.

I've heard of boring out a D-series and putting LS rods in, so I imagine LS pistons would go in too. I'll search for the thread.

I started on this project a while back. Here is the thread I started about it a while back.

what ever happened to your 2.0 D series? That would have been sweet.

Very different. The LS rods work because they are the same length as the stock d-series rods. People use them because they are stronger than stock d-series rods.

It's still a plan in progress. I opted for FI first, and then later on when I get some more money I'll be doing a 1.9 D series (2.0 is'nt going to work). When I finally do get it done, I'll post it all up here!

Rod length and bore are two different things.

It would be possible to put B16 pistons in a D16 block, because a D16 can be sleeved to 81mm. The compression would be very high, especially if using a Y8 head. I would just use an aftermarket piston if I was putting the money in for sleeving on a build up.
