Default anyone using mugen or spoon motor mount inserts?

my motor mounts suck and i need new ones. i've considered the es and or prothane inserts, and from what i hear they work fine, but rattle the hell out of your interior at idle - which i would like to avoid. but they are hella cheap, and that's a big plus.

both the mugen and spoon inserts claim to stiffen the engine without the rough idle, but they run around $300. they say their inserts are of better quaility, but they are very overpriced.

just wondering if anyone was using these, and whether or not it's worth it.

you can do what i did and fill your stock mounts with raw urethane. it works great and is very cheap. like 10 bucks or so. it might be a bit of a bitch on the car though.

use 3M window weld and completely fill the mounts useing a caulking gun. i did this to both my lower tq. mounts and my tranny mount. my motor is nice and stiff, but not to the point where everything inside the cabin rattles. well maybee just a little bit of rattle.

my brother filled all of his when doing his swap and his interior rattles a little more but its worth it IMO.

check out importnut.net for more info on it. thats where i got the idea from.

spoon & mugen don't make inserts, they make entire replacement mounts - that's why they're so expensive.

inserts or replacements will add some vibration, that's just the way it goes. if you don't want vibration, replace with oem.

why do your motor mounts suck?

well i think the one is starting to go bad. the motor shakes a little under acceleration. also, i want to get a little bit of power out of this motor, and before i do that i want to get it nice and still.

i guess i'll just suck it up and live with a shaky interior.
