I have a question regarding adjustable cam gears
I want to know what would be the best set up on a D16z6 with bolt ons. Intake header exhaust. Ive heard advancing the timing 5 degress would be perfect. I also want to know what kind of gain this will give, and how it will effect my low end power. Will this make my car un reliable at all or cause damage? Any advice is appreciated! thanks!

forgot to add.............how hard are they to install? pain in the *** of 10 minute job

 

They are not fun to put on, you have to pull the side plastic off, which is a pain in the ***. Just hard to get to them. Then you have to release the tension on the belt, another hard thing to reach, probably have to pull the side mount off. Then make your markings of where the cam gear is now, then pull it off, put the new one.

 

with just bolt ons, adjusting it would not make a noticable difference. id just leave the stock one on and wait till you add more parts to tune it with.

 

any other feedback guys? i know this is a newb Q

 

Don't bother unless you plan on doing some sort of power adder and have the money for a good tuning session.
