South California Cali People - 1/4 Mile: Cali Speedway Fontana, Palmdale, Carlsbad
Of the 1/4 miles tracks you've been to, which do you guys prefer or have an opinion on.
EDIT
Yes I did, I left Pomona out because it is open like once or twice a year?
I was looking for tracks that people can go on a regular (or semi-regular basis).
Palmdale usually has their Friday night drags.
Carlsbad has their Saturday afternoon drags.
Fontana isn't as regular as the rest, but they have their schedules that they release for Winter and Summer events, etc.

of all tracks i would prefer palmdale. because if you are fast there than you are a lot faster any where else.
ya your right about palmdale.
carlsbad is open almost every sat. and is ghetto with the dirt and the racist workers that give domestic cars 20 passes to your 1
but you get good times there .
you also have to wear a helmet even if your a 20 sec car
lol.

carlsbad is budget but its good to track to see where your at "woody" and his crew are very cool guys.. and dont seem racist to me, it helps when you been to a race track before and know how to conduct yourselves in that manner i suppose... palmdale i would say is my least favorite. and pomona ofcourse would be my best track so far..

California speedway is probably the best prepped tracks i've been to and now they finally have board to show your times, rather than having to listen to the announcer. Unfortunately on a busy day you'd be lucky to get more than 3 runs in 6 hours. LACR is probably one of the worst prepped tracks out there, but is a lot of fun, and you can get in a dozen runs if you get there early enough. Awesome to see Dan Horan run his nitro meth nostalgia car there every once in a while. I guess you have to take the good with the bad. With any luck talks of extending Irwindale to a 1/4 mile will happen within the next two years. They prep that track very well and they move the cars through quick so you can get a bunch of runs in.
Palmdale
if you have the ***** to gun it there, anywhere else is a piece of cake. its like drifting on a quartermile after the stands are gone around half track. two sports with the price of one admission.

bakersfield is excellent. but the track is privatley owned by some conservatist people. and dont open the track often for test and tune.. thats what i was told by an employee of famoso raceway..
****, all the tracks in southern cali except for Pomona, Pomona is the ****. Carlsbad sucks because of the dirt road that leads to the track and the return track is even worse. Palmdale is just too damn far and the elevation sucks there.
