EDIT: Is there any other oem honda or ANY car that has an alternator thatwill fit into my 89 Crx Si with no mods that will also fit the plug ins that is over 100 amps? I really need a new alt and dont wanna pay the 300 bucks they want on ebay for a 135amp.

i had one built one time but it didnt turn out to well.. the guy that built it did a half *** job and it kept goin out and i finally went back to stock. it cost about a bill.

 

does anyone know where to buy a large alt for my crx? I dont want to do any custom fab work but I really need a 120+ amp alt and just sold my tv in my car to do it. My oem was dead so I need to get one asap and dont know where anybody sells them, Ive seen them on ebay for 300 canadian for 150amp but Im really looking for cheaper.

Do any of you guys with a system or high power draw accessories have major dimming problems? Dont even know if I need a huge alt but I am running a large amp off of it.

I've read a stock d16z6 alternator bolts on/plugs in and generates a whopping extra 5amps. Now finding an off the shelf aftermarket/performance alts for 92-95 Civics might be easier.

 

well Im using a jdm dohc zc engine, does anyone else know if I can use a dif alternator from a dif car, one that may be more produced

 

I really need a site to find a high output alternator other than ebay for my dohc zc. My system is crying for it

There are several ways to do this one. We have a shop near Pittsburgh that does this sort of upgrade inhouse. Some have used a Delco. There are several offered on E-bay from time to time (quality unknown). Do a search on Google or Dogpile under alternators and narrow that down. Also, talk to the local stereo shop and ask where they get theirs.
The stock Altenator is rated at 60 amps and works with the ELD in the engine bay fuse panel. It could be that you will need to make some changes as the ELD does control how the stock Alternator functions.
