Default DX Distributor on ZC

I'm converting a 87 CRX w/ Vacuum advance to electric advance. I have a spare 89 dx distributor. My question is, will it work since the two crank sensors that are not in the dx distributor are on motor already (Crank sensor on head)??? The ecu is a PM6 w/ so called Mugen PM7/ZC maps and the motor is a brown top zc.

Thanks...

actually, nothing - the cylinder position sensor is on the exhaust camshaft - everything else in the distributor is the same - you will have trouble bolting the distributor to the head - you may have to switch some wires since the DX uses different pin locations at the ECU

thanks jlicrx... thats what I wanted to know... I really don't know of any distribitor that will bolt to the 87 brown top zc (besides original vacuum advance) so I will have to custom it anyway... same goes for the ecu harness/pins...

you can take the #6 intake cam bearing cap off of a 88-89 integra and swap it in place of the one on the brown top ZC which will put the top bolt in the right spot and i believe one other bolt aligns, so you will have 2 bolts - you might want to check that the slot in the end of the ZC cam is at the same angle as the DX at TDC, so that you can time it right

thanks again... I got one off of an 89 integra a couple of weeks at the junk yard along with the intake manifold (that brown top manifold is the gayest thing I've ever seen)... I haven't had time to put it on do to swaps taking up all of my time... I will post how it goes for all you 1st gen rex lovers out there trying to do the same...
