I drive my turbo GSR about 60-70 miles a day on average. Custom kit, the only problems i have are on the places where I took shortcuts to get the job done cheaper or faster - like the intercooler piping will pop loose every once in awhile or a poorly soldered fuel injector plug will break off, but these are 5 minute fixes that I can usually get done on the side of the road or at a well-lit parking lot

Only other problem I have is on the warm socal days if it's up in the 80s or higher and I try to climb too high of a mountain the factory radiator just doesn't cut it. Regular driving on the flatlands, no matter how much I push it, the car is fine. Go figure.

Moral of the story - do things right the first time, your car will be almost factory reliable. Drive it in good health.

Learn your stuff before you do it....and try to take part in the building and assembly of the turbo system yourself because then if somthing goes wrong you wont have to call someone, or bring it to a shop, you'll know whats wrong because you did it...

Drive it , dont abuse it.....you abuse it, it's going to abuse you, by leaving you on the side of the road looking like a fool. Even if you build it and use good parts, your still gonna break it if you dont take care of it.

Dont cheap out or take short cuts even though they seem very inviting....you'll here this often "either pay now, or pay later, with dividends"

LEARN YOUR STUFF, dont get in over your head...do things right, and know what your doing. (honestly the 4th or 5th time i said this, this week.)

There are many daily driven turbo acura/hondas out there, problems? maybe if somthing went wrong, or if you beat the crap out of it...high maintainence? maybe, because more parts to look after....but according to owner manuals and everything, you should check so many things often anyway, do you really do that? no.....why? because many people take for granted how well cars are built now....but the regular checking the connections, hoses, and what not takes a few minutes....just do it whenever....

I'm running 8 psi, and I've got a J&S Safeguard to ease my mind of any detonation issues.

My Civic is my only car and I put about 2k miles a month on it. I installed the turbo 3k miles ago and replaced the spark plugs just today. I have had no problems with anything coming off or undone. I did the install myself and enjoyed doing it. Like Ricehornet says, do it right the first time and you won't be paying out the nose to have it repaired or having it towed home.
My Civic is boosted at 5 psi.

I think Ricehornet has absorbed the most information off this board then anyone I've seen on here. Then again maybe he has had a lot of first hand experience with turbos and in that case I'm just talking out of my ***

If i ran a drag III kit at 7 psi on my ls integra would i need anything else in order to have a safe setup. Only other mod probably would be a clutch and exhaust everything else stock. Thanks for the help.

Stronger hose clamps and an aftermarket thermostat might ease your woes!

I drive my car on an average of 50-75 miles a day! I run 13-18 psi everyday on pump gas (92 octane) with a stock motor! Even with the heat here in AZ!

9psi screaming right here. working on 12-14 soon..

no real problems turbo related, just regular maintinance expected on a turbo car.

suggestion: If you don't want to spend weekends working on the car and visiting this forum on a more regular basis, with problems.. Dont install any FI. It's a costly expendature no matter how little boost you run. Yes you might run say a greddy kit with 5psi, but believe me even people with those kits are doing little things here and there... if you want lower maintinance type FI, go with a supercharger...

umm. Not exact but close. I just converted my .5 bar into psi. I get 7.25 psi from this website http://www.worldwidemetric.com/metcal.htm and it's using 14.5 psi from 1 bar.

I dunno man, go over to Hostboard FI Tegs forum and you'll see all the JRSC guys have their fair share of problems too, and all their problems seem to require purchasing new crap from Jackson every few months... I think it's just a matter of adding parts to your car just means you got more parts to break, so you're going to have to make sure everything keeps working. Either SC or turbo, I believe installed right you're not going to adversely effect the overall reliability of your whole car except for the fact that if you go FI, you probably are the sort of person who drives the living hell out of your car to start with.
