dead coils
My Prokits came covered with plastic tubng where the dead coil stops and the active coil begins (i.e where the coils start to space out). It looks like the soft , clear pvc tubing you can get from home depot. I would give that a try, you only need enough to make one revolution around the spring. If you want it to stay in place, you'll have to remove the spring and push the tube on from the end (i.e. don't split the tube along it's length and stick it on the easy way)

Have you tried to see if the dealer sells the "spring silencers" themselves. I think that is what you are talking about. They came on my Terin springs and I thought there was a set on your factory springs, but they might get ate up trying to remove them.
