Default Type S Front Lip Mounting Problem

I was mounting the Type S front lip on my 99 Prelude and encountered a problem. Everything fits fine, except for the brackets on the left and right sides of the lip. These photographs illustrate the problem:

Those brackets dont reach the clips. They're about an inch from the clips, at least, so I dont have any way of securing them under there.

I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem, and if so, what have they done to resolve it. I dont know if there's anything thats supposed to go there; but the US front lip doesnt seem to require anything.

I'll probably just fabricate something to span the distance and hold it in place. But I'd like to know whats supposed to go there, or what other people have done about this.

Thanks...

i think you're missing a pair of plastic L-brackets. (at least my OEM lip has them)

you don't really need them since the other screws will hold the lip on fine though.

Zip ties!.. I hold my whole racecar together with them! Lighter than bolts, easier to remove

I think I'm going to just make that bracket myself.

At any rate, this is how the lip looks:

What do you think?

I'll get those photos up soon. I didn't have much time this morning because I had to get to work.

I got the lip from here:
http://www.icbmotorsport.com/

I've also been told these guys sell it:
http://www.importselect.com/

These guys are about $30 cheaper, but they only offer the lip in Flamenco Black and ICB Motorsports sells it in Nighthawk Black Pearl.

I ordered the mounting clips and bolts from here:
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/

Based on the instructions for the US lip I didn't realize I was going to need a bracket or anything. So I'll have to make something. Its fairly secure now, but I want to play it safe and get all the bolts in.

Honestly I like the more agressive US market lip.

I like the Type S lip. The US one is cool, but I think it juts out a bit much at the front. Its a bit blocky. And I dont like how it flares out at the sides.

The Type S one seems to fit better, like it was meant to be there. I like to keep things subtle, so that you see the car as a whole. Which is also why I didnt go with aftermarket lips. Because with almost everything I've seen all the attention is drawn from the car and towards the kit. It ends up looking like a body kit on wheels, especially with the stuff I see driving around here. But thats just me...

To each their own, I guess...
