Default What to do to my H23?

Welpz lets see...i have no idea what to do to my car. Just recently i bought the digital climate control and i got to go and get all the parts for that. So thats a lost cause until i take the time to do it. But anywayz i've been trying to find ways to upgrade and increase the performance on my lude. I'm trying to keep it a sleeper...so any little mods would do. I just want to get the most out of my car without anyone <U>really</U> noticing. Thanks much. =D

you could also take off the belt for the balancer shafts..... there is major controversy on this mod so do a search and you decide...... take off the powersteering belt..... and eliminate the belt routing to the a/c .... but you will have to buy a belt that goes from the alternator to crank pulley.... hey cottonwoods will this work or what? hahaha

Let's see.....somewhat of a sleeper.....

Well, that knocks off most suspension mods.

How technically savvy are you?

This would be my plan:
-CAI w/ 3" piping
-2.5" piping to a nice, stock-looking muffler
-Zex nitrous kit
-Bottle warmer and purge valve
-All necessary gauges (a/f ratio, N2O press.....)
-Good set of tires

If you want some better power off the bottle, try throwin in some USDM H22 pistons; you'll have to know your way around a motor to do this yourself, but if the motor has high miles and the rings are in bad condition, this would be a good mod anyways.

hey the h22 pistons bolt on to the stock rods on the h23?</TD></TR></TABLE>

Last time I checked they were wrist pins, and yes why wouldn't they? just bumps the CR a point or two

If you want a good mod for the H23...I would get an aftermarket header and a JDM Prelude Type S intake box with K&N airfilter. These mods should help increase a little power througout the rpm band.

Turbo and NOS will make your car unreliable and could cost a lot of $$ to fix your car when it does break.

Just remember, at the end of the day...it is still a Prelude. Enjoy it for what it is.

Good luck.

There are no good headers for the H23; the H23's exhaust manifold flows pretty darn good from the factory, and an aftermarket header will barely give a horsepower or two. Just stick w/ what ya got.

The 3" AEM'style CAI will give better top end, but the Type-S will give a beefier torque band throughout the RPM's.

And nitrous will NOT make your car unreliable, if used correctly. Most cars can handle some decent horsepower before things start breaking, and the Prelude is no exception.

I will soon be pushing 300 crank HP on the bottle, and I am not worried about breaking anything.

Are you serious?? You trying to say that the Stock H23 header flows "Pretty darn good from the factory" Please, have you looked at your Stock unit? Its a CAST IRON mold, piece of crap ..Going N/A, Getting rid of the stock H23 header should be the 1st thing you do.
What header do you have on your H23?

A dc Sports Header is 10x better then the H23's OEM unit..I know everybody on this site just craps on DC, but for a H23 it makes a big differance.Dc For a H22, now thats a differant story.. I loved my DC header for my H23, Best mod I did for that engine.

Very decent gain from abour 4k up when that puppy went on. It's the only option for us but it's not useless.

Hahaha, yeah its true about not a lot of after-market companies make headers for h23's. But I have a Kamakazi header for the h23 in my garage not doing anything if you want some info or want to just buy it AIM.
