I know that it has been put in a civic, but is it the same for a crx? I thought that the civic and crx dash layout were the same.

No, bad idea

it'll fit (the armrest part) but everything else, no. if you want a cup holder.. get a small one from a toyota truck and make it fit under the radio. if you want an armrest.. get one from a 94-95 civic (more likely)

Civic and CRX dash layouts are different. The civic is entirely straight, whereas the crx console faces the driver.
