Default What size slicks

What size slicks would you all recommend for my application? I'm shooting for low elevens. I'm thinking either 22x8x15 or 22x8x13. My setup as of right now is below ...

* B16a 84mm Golden Eagle sleeved
* ENDYN 9.2:1 Roller-Wave forged pistons
* Full Race connecting rods
* Walbro 255lph high pressure fuel pump (FOR SALE)
* ARP head studs
* Port Flow inner valve springs
* Acura Integra Type-R outer valve springs
* TiAL 50.5mm blowoff valve
* PWR radiator
* Acura Integra Type-R intake manifold
* Hondata intake manifold gasket
* Honda overbored head gasket
* GEM vacuum manifold
* Blitz SBC-iD
* Jim Fab cross member
* Precision AIC-750 intercooler
* Blitz Nur Spec
* GEM oil adapter
* Precision SC61

Still allot of things left to do but please give me your opinions on what slick size you would recommend

Well it just depends if you want to go with a 13" or a 15", my choice is a 8/22-13 but I do not know if you know we have this size in a 15" 7.5/23-15. Now it just depends what torque you have to the wheels and your FD.

Good Luck

even though they are both 22x8 slicks. why does it matter what size rim? selection of rim?

The thirteen inch tire will give you more sidewall and will allow you to run a lighter rim. Personally, I think he needs something bigger. With that setup and the SC61, I'm thinking he's going to be pushing pretty decent horsepower. I guess the best thing to do is to go tune the car on the dyno and see what horsepower and how much torque he's putting out. Then I would go and select a slick. Just my opinion. Out of those two selections, I would go with the 22/8/13. However, if I had the choice I would go with something bigger. Good luck.

By the way, I use to run 22/8/15 slicks on a setup similar to yours. 9:1 compression GSR motor making 355HP at the wheels and about 240 ft.lbs of torque and I decided to go with a bigger set of slicks. I had traction problems launching out of first gear and I would manage to pull 1.80 60fts at best. I would average 1.85 60fts with 22/8/15 slicks. I bought a set of 24.5/8.5/13 M&H slicks from John and they helped quite a bit. With a little advice from some of the guys and some practice, I got my best 60ft. to a 1.701. I would also consider what your goals are as far as HP and torque #'s when selecting your slick.

I would run at least a 23" slick if not a 24.5. If you are running a b16 tranny you can get away with the 24.5's with a little less power. But like TurboCC said dyno the car or give us a idea on what you plan on making power wise and that will help us help you.

Thanks for all the great replies! I'm not sure how much power I will be putting down. I would assume between 465whp - 530whp. That would be enough for low elevens.

Hi (0x64) I did not know if you already had a rim size of a 13" or a 15", with a 13 the man above is right you get more sidewall and that means more bite.

Good Luck

I'm still deciding. I have a set of 15" wheels picked out but I have been looking at a set of 13" racing wheels so ... I guess I am going to have to wait until I put some numbers down to decide I appreciate all your help
